Sibi secures investment to strengthen healthcare teams

Amsterdam, Zwolle, March 19, 2026 – Software company Sibi has secured an investment from Holland Capital and regional development agency Oost NL. With this financial boost, the company aims to further develop and scale its software to help healthcare organizations better support and retain their employees.

Demographic pressure calls for new solutions

Due to double ageing, the demand for healthcare is rising rapidly, while the number of healthcare professionals is under increasing pressure. According to figures from Statistics Netherlands (CBS), the Netherlands now has more people aged 65 and over than individuals under the age of 20. By 2040, the share of the working-age population (approximately 20–67 years) is expected to decline to around 55–60% of the total population, while the number of elderly continues to grow. For the healthcare sector, this translates into structural staff shortages, increased workload, and growing complexity of care. Technology can help, but only if it aligns with the needs of those delivering care on a daily basis.

The employee as capital in healthcare

While many healthcare innovations focus on patients or care processes, Sibi takes a different approach: placing the employee at the center of the healthcare system. Sibi develops software that supports healthcare organizations throughout the entire employee journey, from onboarding and social intranet to employee engagement surveys and offboarding.

Lennard Veldwijk, founder and owner of Sibi:“Our mission is for healthcare professionals to experience job satisfaction, so that healthcare in the Netherlands remains accessible to everyone. By providing the right attention at the right moments, we strengthen the position of employees and contribute to their sense of ownership, autonomy, and job satisfaction. This is not a ‘soft’ topic, but the foundation of sustainable healthcare.”

Aligned with healthcare transitions

Sibi’s software responds to broader transitions in healthcare, such as the growth of informal care, where family caregivers and volunteers play an increasingly important role. Adoption is also critical in the implementation of healthcare technology: new systems often fail not technically, but in usage. By integrating onboarding, training, and feedback into one platform, Sibi increases the adoption of digital healthcare solutions.

In addition, the platform contributes to sustainable employability. By continuously providing insights into employee experience and engagement, organizations can take timely action, reduce absenteeism, and retain talent. Team leaders are supported with data-driven insights and predictive models that help identify absenteeism and turnover at an early stage.

Investment to accelerate growth

With the investment from Holland Capital and Oost NL, Sibi will further develop its platform and expand its reach among healthcare organizations. Veldwijk: “For Sibi, this investment primarily means the opportunity to accelerate the realization of our mission.”
