Amsterdam, 18 December 2023 – Our portfolio company, Kids Lodge, has successfully acquired childcare center Het Zonnetje. This strategic move allows Kids Lodge to expand its childcare services and footprint in Houten.

Het Zonnetje is known for providing intimate childcare services with a focus on personal attention for each child. The two locations in Houten offer a comprehensive package of childcare arrangements for parents, emphasizing warmth, coziness, cooperation, prioritizing the child, and learning through play.

The acquisition of Het Zonnetje aligns with Kids Lodge’s growth ambitions. Building on previous acquisitions, including In de Rups Houten/Zeist (December 2021) and De Bereboot in Helmond (November 2023), this move represents the next step in Kids Lodge’s strategic expansion.

Founded in 1988 as a childminder position, Het Zonnetje has evolved into a daycare center with a passion for working with children. The center provides care to approximately 250 children aged 0 to 12 years across two locations in Houten, supported by a team of 50 employees.
