About Uman

Uman is an AI agent that is fundamentally changing the way B2B sales professionals and go-to-market teams work today. Using data governance and generative AI, the company seamlessly integrates internal sales data and processes with external data, which it pulls from company websites, the social network LinkedIn and public annual reports, among others. Among other things, the platform generates hyper-personalised and relevant sales pitches, emails and customer cases to achieve better sales results. The company mainly targets B2B professionals from the IT, consultancy and telecom sectors, who deal with an extensive and complex product portfolio.

Sales revolution thanks to AI

Sales teams in B2B companies with a broad and complex portfolio of products and services face challenging times. Customers have high expectations, sales departments have to work with shrinking budgets ánd they struggle to make that complex portfolio their own, resulting in lost opportunities.

That inspired founders Charles Boutens (CEO) and Sven Degroote (CTO) to build the sales AI agent Uman. Uman, thanks to smart data governance and generative AI, offers relevant sales content and insights at the right time. This allows sales teams to step up to customers with personalised pitches and offers, without having to do all the manual work themselves. This results in higher conversion rates, increased efficiency and more cross-sell opportunities.

‘The classic way we do sales no longer works,’ Boutens argues. ‘With the possibilities offered by AI today, we saw how it could be more effective and efficient. We spent a long time building Uman so that really every detail was right.’

Why are we investing in Uman?

Today, several Western European leaders in IT, consultancy and telecoms are already using the AI agent, including Proximus, msg global and Belgian media giant DPG Media. With the investment, Uman wants to bet on its further growth. ‘Now is the time to stealth mode leave and market Uman well thanks to this investment. Not only in Belgium by the way – we already have first customers in the Netherlands and Germany,’ Degroote points out. ‘Our focus currently remains Europe, but we certainly have the ambition to conquer the US as well.’

Holland Capital’s investment in Uman underlines its belief in the transformative power of AI-driven content generation and data management for sales. This round represents a boost in the start-up’s growth and product development. ‘We are delighted to support Uman during this fascinating phase of the business,’ says Jorg van der Heijden, Partner at Holland Capital, said. ‘Uman’s innovative approach to sales enablement is already creating a furore in the industry, and we are confident that our partnership will help them reach new heights. We are especially looking forward to further expanding the team and rolling this out internationally, enabling sales teams around the world to work more efficiently.
