Holland Capital invests in Hybrid Power Units & Top Systems
Amsterdam/Stadskanaal/Bodegraven, April 22, 2024 – Holland Capital invests in Hybrid Power Units (‘HPU’) and Top Systems (‘TS’), both companies supply battery-based energy solutions. Holland Capital’s investment will enable the stated growth ambitions to be realised, both organically and through buy and build.
Battery-based energy solutions
The energy transition is crucial to tackle climate change and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. Batteries are a key success factor in this energy transition. By joining forces, the newly created company can respond to the increasingly complex demands for energy storage. Moreover, the combination offers capacity and innovative strength in a rapidly growing market.
Investment for growth
The investment from Holland Capital is intended to accelerate the combination’s growth and make the battery a widely used emission-free alternative to fossil energy.
Dick de Raad of HPU: “Holland Capital’s expertise and financial strength allow us to really think big. Joining forces with Top Systems gives us 38 years of commercial and technical expertise within the broader battery market.”
Erwin van Heijningen of TS: “Together with HPU, we can work on new technical innovations. Think of high-voltage solutions that can be deployed on a large scale to address grid congestion issues, among other things.”
Philip Wilms, Investment Director Holland Capital, “We see enormous development in the market for lithium batteries, where our belief is that we will accelerate this transition if we pool expertise and make it more widely accessible. In doing so, this is a great first step and we will keep our eyes open for new strategic acquisitions.”
