Holland Capital invests in HuisartsenHulp and strengthens its position in primary care with CareAbout
Amsterdam – March 12th, 2026 – Holland Capital has invested in HuisartsenHulp and CareAbout, both specialists in workforce solutions for primary care. The combination creates an organisation that broadly supports general practitioner practices, GP out-of-hours services, pharmacies and other primary care providers with both temporary and structural staffing needs and supporting services.
Rising structural demand for primary care
Demand for primary care in the Netherlands continues to rise due to demographic developments, the decentralisation of healthcare, and increasing healthcare needs. At the same time, the healthcare labour market remains under significant pressure.
HuisartsenHulp and CareAbout respond to this by supporting healthcare providers quickly, effectively and with high-quality solutions to address capacity constraints. The combined organisation thereby contributes to maintaining continuity of care. HuisartsenHulp primarily focuses on safeguarding continuity within GP practices and healthcare centres through its proprietary software platform, while CareAbout specialises in long-term staffing solutions for, among others, pharmacies and GP practices. Together, they offer complementary services with nationwide coverage across primary care.
Joining forces
By bringing together HuisartsenHulp and CareAbout, a combined organisation is created that focuses on providing flexible, long-term and supportive solutions within primary care. The complementary nature of their target groups, services and networks creates a nationwide platform that supports GP practices and pharmacies in addressing both temporary and structural capacity challenges.
Hans Pruis, CEO of HuisartsenHulp: “With the support of Holland Capital and the collaboration with CareAbout, we can further professionalise and scale our services to better support healthcare providers in a challenging labour market.”
Timothy Hoolhorst, CEO of CareAbout: “This collaboration enables us to further strengthen our expertise and expand our services for both healthcare professionals and clients.”
Philip Wilms, Investment Director at Holland Capital: “The combination of HuisartsenHulp and CareAbout fits well with our investment strategy and sits at the intersection of our focus areas Technology and Healthcare. The combined organisation contributes structurally to the continuity of care in the Netherlands by not merely shifting scarcity, but by adding new capacity.”
