Highcare expands its services to the mental health sector through the acquisition of Buro MK
Roosendaal / Zutphen, 26th of April 2019 – Highcare acquires Buro MK, an employment agency specialized in the deployment of mental healthcare professionals (GGZ). With this acquisition, Highcare expands its services to a specific niche market where it has limited presence. The acquisition perfectly fits the active buy-and-build strategy in which companies such as Ambucare, SEHV, EMC, Latona, Fydalo and Zorgzuster were previously acquired. The acquisition of Buro MK, enables Highcare to further strengthen its market position as a leading temporary employment and secondment agency and trainer of specialized personnel in the healthcare sector.
Buro MK, founded in 2007 and based in Zutphen, is a specialized employment agency within the GGZ sector. The organization is active within disabled care, youth care, psychiatry, addiction care and elderly care. Buro MK is the most prominent supplier of healthcare professionals within the Dutch GGZ institutions and focuses on group leaders, nurses and socio therapists.
Substantive broadening and deepening
Both Highcare and Buro MK are leading players in the healthcare market and offer a complementary range of services. Whereas Buro MK focuses on the mental health care sector, Highcare mainly serves clients within the hospitals, ambulance care and VVT sector. By joining forces, both organizations expand and deepen their service offering.
Willem Grool, director of Highcare, adds: “Buro MK has a strong reputation in the GGZ market, where Highcare has limited presence. The acquisition of Buro MK enables us to broaden our service offering to clients and brings an attractive portfolio of customers to Highcare. In short, a great step in our active buy-and-build strategy with which we increase our market share again.”
Growth plans
The acquisition of Buro MK is an interesting strategic step in the buy-and-build strategy that Highcare has deployed. Through the acquisition of Buro MK, Highcare serves 150 customers with a flexible pool of nearly 3,000 temporary employees. In the next five years, Highcare aims to reach EUR 40 million of annual turnover to further strengthen its market position as a leading temporary employment and secondment agency in the healthcare sector and trainer of specialized healthcare personnel. Within the buy-and-build strategy, Highcare intends to acquire companies that are specialized in job placement and training of healthcare staff.
Murat Nergiz, founder and owner of Buro MK, says: “We were looking for an organization that could help us achieve further growth. Our focus is on the one hand expanding our service to current customers and on the other hand attracting healthcare professionals with a specialization other than mental healthcare. Marktlink Mergers & Acquisitions has provided us with excellent support in this process. Through the collaboration with Highcare, we are now able to offer both our professionals and our customers new opportunities and expand our services to adjacent sectors.”
