An experienced investment team
The Holland Capital team combines extensive private equity experience with knowledge of entrepreneurship and a relevant international network. Based on this combination, we know which aspects are important for successful investments in small and medium-sized enterprises. We understand what entrepreneurship means, the uncertainties that may play a role, the risks involved and the opportunities which may arise. We are not passive investors, but actively cooperate with the managers of the companies we invest in, in order to successfully build and grow the company.
After studying business administration, Ewout was an entrepreneur and worked in finance at a multinational. In 2000 he joined Holland Capital, where he became a partner in 2005. Fascinated by the impact of technology on everyday life, likes to travel and enjoys several sports. Ewout was a board member of the Dutch Venture Capital Association.
Started up his first fast growing company during high school. Since then, involved in numerous companies with ambitious growth plans. Joined Holland Capital in 2000. Strong in developing business strategies. Obtained a master in both Economics and Law. Family man, hockey and golf.
CFO by heart and training. Previously at ING Corporate Finance. Before that master degrees of Economics and Law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Ironman and fanatic golfer.
Responsable for office management since 2014. Because of her involvement the team can focus on the core activities.
She lives at IJburg, likes to sport and loves to be around people.
Grytsje de Jong
Grytsje joined Holland Capital in 2016. Her background in marketing and public relations combined with her hospitality skills, make her a valuable addition to the office management team. Grytsje loves to travel the world.
Jetske de Jong
Obtained her master Sports Marketing in 2006, gained a lot of experience in marketing and working within projects on Curacao. Joined Holland Capital in 2009, actively involved in marketing and communication processes of participations. Frisian who loves water sports.
Niels van Aalten
Niels van Aalten is Partner of Holland Capital’s Tech Fund. Actively supporting fast-growing Dutch technology companies is his passion. Niels holds an LLM from the University of Utrecht and an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona.
Joined Holland Capital in 2013. Before he obtained his master degree International Economics cum laude at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Before, he gained relevant experience at Rocket Internet and De Nederlandsche Bank. Dedicated Ajax supporter.
Kicked off his career at Holland Capital early 2016 after obtaining his Master in Business Engineering at the University of Ghent. Build up experience through internships at Bank Degroof/Petercam and Blackfin Capital Partners. Predominately involved with tech companies. Motivated, ambitious and a relentless drive for success typify Laurens.
After completing two master’s degrees in both Finance and Business Administration at the University of Groningen, Rutger started his career in the field of Transaction Services where he was involved in over 40 transactions. Part of the Holland Capital team since 2018, focusing on innovative technology companies. Sports fanatic and enjoys watching cabaret.
Jan-Frens van Giessel
After finishing his Master Science & Innovation management he worked as consultant, project manager and investor. Within Holland Capital since the beginning of 2018. Responsible for healthcare innovations, med-tech and digital health. Loves to mountain bike, ski, and cook.
Started at Holland Capital as Partner Healthcare beginning of 2019. She completed Business Economics at the UvA, worked for several years in financial services. Started at Opdidakt in 2014, where she co-worked with Holland Capital on several acquisitions and acquired a taste for buy-and-build activities. She has 3 children and enjoys social activities.
Started at Holland Capital in 2011 after graduating Master in Financial Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Actively involved in the value creation process of our portfolio companies. Focus on IT- and Healthcare services. Always looking for new opportunities, on a business and personal level. Triathlon fanatic.
Robert van Leeuwen
After obtaining his master degree in Business Economics at the University of Amsterdam, Robert gained his first experience as a mergers and acquisitions professional. He joined Holland Capital in 2016 and focusses on MedTech, the intersection between technology and health care. He is fond of travelling and CrossFit.
After she obtained her master’s degree in Neuroscience at King’s College London, Sterre gained experience in private equity at Gilde Buy-Out and Mentha Capital. In 2016, she started working at Holland Capital to focus on new innovations within Health care. In her spare time, she loves to go kitesurfing, skiing or play field hockey.
Hidde van der Gaag
Currently Hidde is obtaining his Msc. degree in Financial Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Before starting in 2018 as Junior Investment Analyst at Holland Capital, he gained experience at KPN. In his spare time, he likes to participate in running competitions.

Over 20 years a successful entrepreneur in the healthcare sector. Founder of several healthcare and ICT companies such as Plexus, VisionClinics, Alant Medical and Zorgdomein. Previously, worked for McKinsey & Company. Commissioner and director of several companies and foundations.
Former medical specialist. Also director and supervisor in care. Strategic consultant to several companies in different healthcare sectors. Also commissioner of a medical/innovative enterprise. Until December 2011 Associate with Boer Croon Executive Managers.
Worked at Chase Manhattan Bank from 1984-1991 and then became a member of the Executive Committee at Draka Holding. Then worked as CFO in various industries. Also initiator of www.diversitydinner.nl. Edzard Koole is currently Manager Private Equity at family office Verenigd Beheer BV.
