Avinty and Karify join forces to improve healthcare

Amsterdam, September 10th 2019 – Earlier this week, the shareholders of eHealth platform Karify came to an agreement around selling their shares to Avinty, a developer of software applications for healthcare institutions. Avinty and Karify have the shared ambition to offer a fully integrated eHealth solution and, in doing so, to increase the adoption of eHealth within the broader healthcare sector. Karify’s current management team, including co-founder and CEO Joris Moolenaar, will remain involved in their current capacity post-transaction.

Karify provides eHealth solutions to healthcare institutions and has gained significant market share in the mental healthcare segment over recent years. The platform currently connects over 60,000 users with healthcare professionals by way of combining online communication tools and self-help modules. An eHealth platform like Karify provides its users with personal guidance while facilitating the work of the care professional. This results in accessible and more effective care.

Active growth strategy
Holland Capital has been a shareholder in Karify since 2014, actively supporting management in the strategic development of the company. “As a result of the technological development of the software platform, the further professionalization of the organization and the first steps towards international expansion, Karify has gained a strong position within the GGZ (mental care) market. The collaboration with Avinty is a logical next step, providing significant added value for both users and healthcare professionals. We wish Karify and Avinty a successful joint future,” said Ewout Prins, Managing Partner Holland Capital.

Fully integrated eHealth solution
Avinty, a developer of software applications for Dutch and Belgian healthcare institutions, has joined forces with eHealth platform Karify. Avinty is comprised of a group of software companies. Some of the company’s more established brands include Impulse Info Systems, NederCare, VIR e-Care Solutions, which jointly support over 56,000 healthcare professionals. Avinty is supported by Gilde Equity Management since 2016. Avinty and Karify have the ambition to offer a fully integrated eHealth solution and thereby increase the adoption of eHealth in healthcare.

Onno Verstegen, CEO Avinty: “The addition of the eHealth software from Karify bolsters current expertise and provides new functionalities to the Avinty platform. It is essential nowadays to offer clients the ability to organize their own care by way of client portals and other eHealth modules.”

Joris Moolenaar, CEO Karify: “This step enables Karify to accelerate its growth. Healthcare organizations are increasingly developing digital processes and healthcare services. Holland Capital has actively supported the development of a successful healthcare company, in which its knowledge and expertise in the field of (e)health were of great value. With Avinty as a partner, the Karify team will be able to make a difference by doing what it does best; providing better digital care (services) for both clients and professionals.”
